OUR MISSION

hILLCREST Mission

The mission of the Hillcrest Elementary PTA is to be a voice for our children, a partner with our school, and a resource for our families and community. We do this by promoting open communication and understanding between parents and staff of Hillcrest Elementary School. Our efforts serve to enhance and maximize the education of every child while aiding them in achieving their highest potential.


Our Goals

PTA Goals for the 2019-2020 school year.

Together we will:

  • Create an inclusive organization that welcomes all cultures, family structures (single, blended, etc.), and abilities to join in our efforts.

  • Provide support for cultural and educational programs and events at Hillcrest Elementary.

  • Provide social activities like Silvertips Night, Mariners Night, and skate nights to encourage community spirit and togetherness.

  • Encourage and organize volunteer support for school and PTA programs and events. 

 

  • Spark interest, involvement, and understanding of our local PTA. Build social awareness of the things we do for our students, families, and staff at Hillcrest Elementary.

 

  • Discover the needs and interests of our school community by listening to your voice (even if you are not a PTA member) and develop a plan to bring necessary programs to life.

 

  • Conduct purposeful fundraising, procure business sponsorships and donations to support our programs and events at Hillcrest Elementary.

 

  • Inform everyone that even non-pta members are invited to share their ideas and concerns at our general meetings, but only members have a right to vote on final business decisions.

 

  • Remind current members that their vote determines how funds are spent. This year we will make general meetings more accessible by creating a new morning meeting (so that those that work nights can attend) and also offer virtual meetings and online voting options.

 

 

Who We Are
We are comprised of a board of directors, committee chairs, and general assembly. General membership consists of families, students, teachers, administrators, and business and community leaders dedicated to the educational success of children and the promotion of family engagement in schools.


This year our PTA board of directors is comprised of many new faces, bringing with them new skills, talents, fresh ideas and a desire to learn the needs of our Hillcrest community. We want to hear your thoughts and ideas of how we can improve our school’s success, and our children’s wellbeing.

 

Our Values

  • We will work in partnership with a wide array of individuals and organizations to broaden and enhance our ability to serve and advocate for all children and families.

  • Commitment: We are dedicated to children’s educational success, health, and well-being through strong family and community engagement, while remaining accountable to the principles upon which our association was founded.

  • Diversity: We acknowledge the potential of everyone without regard, including but not limited to: age, culture, economic status, educational background, ethnicity, gender, geographic location, legal status, marital status, mental ability, national origin, organizational position, parental status, physical ability, political philosophy, race, religion, sexual orientation, and work experience.

  • Respect: We value the individual contributions of members, employees, volunteers, and partners as we work collaboratively to achieve our association’s goals.

  • Accountability: All members, employees, volunteers, and partners have a shared responsibility to align their efforts toward the achievement of our association’s strategic initiatives.
